SUMMARY OF CANDIDATES WEAKNESS


The Chief Examiner observed that the candidates showed weaknesses in the following areas:


  1. Difficulties in using upper class boundaries in plotting Ogive.

  2. Omission of units.

  3. Inadequate understanding of permutation, vectors and mechanics.

  4. Inadequate rudimentary knowledge of linear transformations and use of assumed mean.

  5. Inability to investigate quadratic inequality.

SUGGESTED REMEDIES


The Chief Examiner suggested that to overcome the challenges stated, the following remedies should be considered:


  1. Candidates should be encouraged to read questions carefully and understand their requirements before attempting them.

  2. Candidates are encouraged to cover the syllabus while preparing .
  3. for examination so as to enhance performance.


  4. Parents/Guidance should provide their children/wards with modern textbooks.

  5. Candidates should pay more attention on use of diagrams and illustrations.

  6. Constant practice by the candidates’ will enhance performance.
