Candidates' Weakness

 

The candidates’ could not respond well in questions 3 and 5 which were on methods of identifying fabrics, fabrics made from natural fibres, advantages of cotton fabrics and explanation of the following terms as used in Garment Making:
                        (i)         dart;
                        (ii)        gathers;
                        (iii)       openings;
                        (iv)       fastenings;
                        (v)        disposal of fullness. 
            To overcome these weaknesses,
Candidates should device means of getting information on Garment Making
Teachers should be dedicated to their work.
           Students should cultivate reading habit.

            Teachers should ensure they do some demonstrations in the classroom.

They should do a lot of sketching on the board and give the students a lot of homework.

Teachers should attend workshop and seminars in order to update their knowledge.
