The paper was of a high standard and was comparable with those of previous examinations.  The questions were within the scope of the syllabus and were adequately spread to cover the entire syllabus.  The rubrics were clear and devoid of ambiguity.  The marking scheme was comprehensive and adequately covered all the demands of the questions.

The performance of the candidates fell below that of the previous year.
