WEAKNESS/REMEDIES

CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES

  1. Improper understanding of questions
Some candidates did not understand some questions before proceeding to answer them.  For instance, some candidates drew spur, pass, knoll and ridge instead of marking them on the map provided.
  2. Inadequate explanation of points
Some candidates are in the habit of listing points that require explanations.  Such candidates loose precious marks.  For most questions, candidates were expected to adequately explain their points.

  3. Poor expression
Some candidates presented their ideas in poor expression.  Such candidates could not articulately marshal their points in good English.

Some candidates did not fully cover the syllabus before the commencement of the examination.  This is obvious in aspect of map work like the identification of relief features, calculation of distances, identification of land-use types and the plotting of graph.

SUGGESTED REMEDIES TO CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES
