Observation

This was one of the most popular questions and the performance of the candidates in the question was very good. They were able to define atmospheric resources as those things in the atmosphere which are of benefits to man, animals and plants. Some of the atmospheric resources named included oxygen, dust particles, spores of yeast, nitrogen, carbon dioxide, water vapour, sunshine, wind, ozone, helium and argon. The importance of atmospheric resources that were outlined included:
-           carbon dioxide for photosynthesis;
-           oxygen is used by plants and animals foe respiration;
-           carbon dioxide absorbs heat to control atmospheric temperature;
-           rain water provides water for human consumption;
-           oxygen is used for combustion;
-           sunlight for drying of clothes;
            -           nitrogen for protein synthesis;
            -           carbon dioxide used for fighting fire out break;
            -           water vapour; moderate atmospheric temperature;
            -           wind for generation of electricity;

            -           ozone for protection against harmful radiation
