Observation

This question was a popular one as it attracted majority of the candidates. The candidates were able to define nationalist movement as an association formed by a group of people who share common interest to resist political domination, economic exploitation, racial discrimination and cultural intimidation and to struggle for political independence.
Moreover, many candidates were able to give a good account of the effects of
Nationalism as demanded by the 'b' part such as:

-increased African participation in politics;
-Introduction and extension of franchise in West Africa;

-struggled to Africanise the civil service;
-development of political parties;
-achieved independence to their respective countries etc.
The overall candidates' performance in the question was very good.
