candidates' weakness

Candidates had difficulty in answering questions on sound system as we as the Oral and Written Literature. This could be attributed to lack of qualified teachers and inadequate study of the texts by the candidates. They also had problems in orthography coupled with poor handwriting. Some candidates did not adhere strictly to the rubrics and non-coverage the syllabus also contributed to their poor performance.
REMEDIES

Seminars and Workshops should be organized by the respective Stat Ministries of Education for Hausa teachers in areas of phonetics and phonology as well as the grammar aspect, to acquaint them with the
topics. Teachers should encourage candidates to develop a good reading culture.

Candidates are advised to always write legibly for easy understanding Candidates should be kept busy at all times by giving them take-horn assignments.

Qualified teachers should always be employed and the existing ones be allowed to proceed on in-service training
