Candidates showed improvement in their ability to:
  •  adhere to rubric by answering three questions required of the candidates
  •  answer questions without copy one another in the examination hall
  • mention the major minerals in the bone
  • list disorders of the liver
  • state methods of infection, symptoms and prevention of tuberculosis
  • state ways of ensuring a healthy respiratory  system
  • define food contamination
  • state effects of food contamination on humans
  • state reasons why food items are stored
  • list food items that can be preserved by the following methods:
keeping in silo
(ii)   adding salt
(iii)  sun drying.
  • state advantages and disadvantages of canning as a method of food preservation
  • mention food substances which could be canned
  • classify influenza and whooping cough as communicable  and non-communicable diseases
  • list risk factors associated with hypertension
  • give example of diseases transmitted through (i) skin (ii) foot (iii) mouth (iv) nose
