    Describe the process of protein absorption in the small intestine

This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was poor.  Candidates could not correctly describe the process of protein absorption in the small intestine.

The expected answers are as follows:

3.       DESCRIPTION OF THE PROCESS OF PROTEIN ABSORPTION IN THE SMALL
           INTESTINE
-   the presence of villi enhances/increases the process of absorption of amino acids/ protein
-     the walls of the villi contains blood capillaries
-     into which the digested proteins diffuse
-     and  later into the hepatic portal vein
-     and finally  into the liver and the small intestine
