Observation

 

 This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was very good.  In part (a) majority of the candidates correctly stated consequences of self-medication; In part (b) also candidates also correctly stated reasons people consume alcohol.

  • damage  to vital organs in human body/causing illness
  • sudden death
  • malfunction of the brain/sensory organs

(b)      REASONS WHY PEOPLE CONSUME ALCOHOL

  • family habit/cultural practices
  • served at social gathering/parties
  • to escape boredom/unpleasant realities of life/depression
  • for relaxation/pleasure/fun
  • for religious rites/rituals
  • for boldness/confidence
  • to  relief stress
  • for experimentation
  • peer influence
