             (b)        (i)         Different ethnic groups were united;
                          (ii)        The war led to the creation of more states;
                         (iii)       The war provided job opportunities for those who wished to join the Nigeria                                       army and led to the absorption of Biafran soldiers into the Nigeria army;
                         (iv)       The Nigeria army was enlarged and equipped with modern weapons and                                        soldiers were better trained;
                           (v)        Nigeria’s image abroad was protected;
                           (vi)       The war affected people were rehabilitated and construction work started;
                           (vii)      Peace and harmony prevailed as people had the opportunity to travel to and fro for their                                         normal business without molestation;
                           (viii)     It led to the establishment of NYSC Scheme to promote national unity.
