This question was very popular among the candidates and most of those who answered the question performed very well.  Few candidates however could not suggest ways by which     rural-urban migration could be reduced in Africa. 

The ways of curbing rural-urban migration in Africa include:

-           strict legislation on immigration
-           establishment of rural industries to create jobs;
-           provision of social amenities in rural areas;
-           supporting rural entrepreneurs with funds;
-           infrastructural development in rural areas;
-           political stability;
-           improved agricultural practices;
-           establishing schools of higher learning in rural areas;
-           prompt response to disasters;
-           good governance;
