Observation
This was one of the most popular questions but was poorly answered by the candidates. Instead of discussing roles play by Nigeria in the United Nations Organization (UN/UNO) they simply discussed the contribution of United Nations to Nigeria and score low marks. The under listed points were expected to be discussed by candidates in order to get good marks:
- The Common Wealth/The Common wealth of Nations.
- The United Nations Organization/United Nations (UNO/UN).
- The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).
- The Organization of African Unity/African Union (OAU/AU).
- Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
- Organization of Islamic Countries/Cooperation (OIC).
- Nigeria had her industrial base expanded.
- More jobs opportunities for the working population
- Nigeria had a strengthened relationship with the member countries.
- Nigeria enjoyed free movement of goods and persons.
- ECOWAS games have strengthened regional relationship.
- Financial assistance from Ecobank.
- Establishment of ECOWAS Courts and Parliament in Nigeria.
- Nigeria has hosted ECOWAS and Heads of states meetings which has enhanced its prestige and brought economic gains.
- Participation in peace keeping missions provided their solders training, experience and income.
- Nigeria enjoyed wider markets for its products.
