(a) State four requirements for wardrobe planning.
(b) State four points to consider in the care of clothing.

Observation

Most candidates were writing building of wardrobe i.e. cupboard for keeping clothes instead of requirements for wardrobe planning.
Some wrote steps in laundry instead of points to consider in the care of clothing.

The required answers to the questions are as follows:

4(a) Requirements for wardrobe planning
                      i. Have knowledge of different types of fabrics available in the market.
                      ii. Know the principles of colour combination - that is, how to combine
                           colours to produce effective colour scheme.
                      iii. Study figure types and styles.
                      iv. Have good knowledge of storage facilities.
                      v. Understand the different methods of caring for different fabrics.
                      vi. Check the wardrobe to know which clothes need to be replaced or
                             added based on various activities.
                      vii. Study the current fashion.

           (b)      Points to consider in the care of clothing:

                     i.
Wash clothes with appropriate washing detergent and fabric rinses so as not  to damage the fabric.
                      ii. Use the correct method of washing based on the fabric

                      iii. Iron with the correct temperature
                      iv. Select good hangers for your clothes
                      v. Hang only clean clothes on suitable hangers.
                      vi. Do not hang knitted wears such as sweaters to avoid stretching them out of shape.
                      vii. Do not overcrowd your wardrobe with clothes.
                      viii. Keep some camphor balls in your wardrobe to prevent the entry of insects.
                      ix. Air your clothes occasionally to prevent mould growing on them
                      x.  Mend/repair clothes as soon as need arise
                      Xi. Keep your clothes from dust by covering them with water proof bags.
                      Xii. Clean the wardrobe constantly.
