This was not a popular question. The few who attempted the question gave very scanty answers. Candidates seemed to be able to state the role of the shrine but failed to relate it to its role in the culture.

The required answers should include:

• The statement of the central theme.


• The location of the shrine.


• The role of the shrine.


• The desecration of the shrine.


• The consequences of the desecration.

Candidates’ performance was poor.
