  • (a) State five functions of a marketing manager.

    (b) Explain five ways a marketer will assist his/her company to deliver high quality goods and services to the customer.

Observation

Most candidates who attempted this question performed very well while few gave the attributes of the marketing manager for question 6a. For question 6b, most candidates who attempted the question did not perform well.

 

Some of their responses to the question which are incorrect are -

- Keep your customers

- Transparency

- Go extra miles

- Know your customers. Etc.

 

The expected responses are;

(i) By correctly identify customers’ needs and wants through constant research on the company’s product;

(ii) The marketer must ensure that customers orders are supplied correctly and on schedule;

(iii) Marketers must communicate constant expectations properly to the production department;

(iv) He must ensure that customers’ received proper instructions, training and technical assistance in the use of the product;

(v) He must ensure that customers are regularly contacted after the sales of goods to ensure that they are satisfied and remain satisfied with the product or service;

(vi) They must receive feedback from customers, idea for product and service improvements. Etc.
