Question 3 (a) State one use each of the following parts of a centre lathe: (i)compound slide; (ii)tail stock; (iii)feed shaft; (iv)hand stock. (b)List three methods of taper turning on a centre lathe. (c)State two uses of coolant during turning operations.

OBSERVATION
This question did not pose any difficulty to the candidates. The only problem area was part (aHiv) which most of the candidates corrected as head stock and not hand stock as written on the question paper.
