OBSERVATIONS

 

The question was popular among the candidates and it was well attempted by most of the candidates. However, some candidates found it difficult to state the exponents of the genre to get good marks in the question. In order to score high marks in the question, candidates were expected to state some of the following points:

(a) Afrobeat is a popular musical form/genre originated from Nigeria characterized with a fussion of Jazz and African rhythm.                                                                     

(b) Fela Anikulapo Kuti                                                                                      

(c) Drum set/Trap set, Rhythm guitar, Conga drums, Trumpet, Trombone, Keyboard, Wooden clappers, Slit drum, Gbedu, Bass guitar, Saxophone (alto, tenor and baritone).

(d) Hakeeb Kareem, Orlando Julius Ekemode, Femi Kuti, Seun Kuti, Alariwo, Dede Mabiaku.
