(a) State any three techniques used in piano playing

(b) Identify five piano works from the following list:

(II) The Trumpet shall sound;
(III) Queen of sheba;
(IV) Dido and Aeneas;
(V) Lieder ohne worte;
(VI) Porgy and Bess;
(VII) Waltz in A flat;
(VIII) Mazurka;
(IX) Polonaise.

(c) Give any two exponents of African pianism.

Observation

Again, most of the candidates responded positively to the questions and were able to garner the marks allotted to (a) and (b) whereas they goofed in their response to (c).

The expected answers are:

Akin Euba, J. H. K. Nketia, Ayọ Bankọle, Joshua Uzoigwe,
Kenn Kafui, etc.
