CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES

Candidates’ weaknesses as reflected in their works included:
(1)        Use of in appropriate terms
Most of the candidates have the idea of what the questions requires but due to that they did not use the proper terms to answer the questions, they ended up the fact answering out of context,
            (2)        Poor reading habit
   Candidates were not reading constantly as evidenced by poor knowledge of the subject matter in their responses,
(3)        Site trips
Site trips should be made to enable the candidates familiarise themselves with the subject,
(4)        Recommended textbooks
Relevant textbooks should be provided for easy access.

SUGGESTED REMEDIES TO OVERCOME CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES

1. Candidates should be taught how to use the appropriate terms and how to answer questions as required in painting and decorating.
2. Candidates should be encouraged to read the more to enhance their understanding and get better grades.
3. Visits to sites where painting and decorating operations take place to enable the candidates have better practical experience.
4. Recommended textbook should be bought for use in schools. The following textbooks below should be provided for the students in the library.
