Observation

This question was attempted by many candidates and the  candidates’ performance was fair.  In part (a) some candidates could not write correctly what is hormone?  Candidates wrote hormone as substances vomited by sick person.  In part (b) few candidates wrote names of muscles such as deltoid biceps, triceps, trapezius ad brachialis while other candidates wrote formation of blood cells, beautifying the body.

The expected answers were as follows:

(a)    Hormones
Hormones are chemical substance produced in the human body/secreted by endocrine gland and carried by the blood to an organ to stimulate its activities.
                                                                                                                         
   (b)     Functions of muscles

  1. production of heat
  2. assists good posture i.e. enhances shape
  3. for movement
  4. protein of internal organs
