Observation

This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was good.  In part (a)(i) Only few candidates correctly defined outdoor recreation, In (a) (ii) many candidates correctly

gave examples of outdoor recreation.

In part (b) many candidates responded well while few others are yet to master the intra mural objectives.

The expected answers are as follows:

 5(a)(i) OUTDOOR RECREATION

This is the type of recreation that takes place outside either on the field or in a camp.

   (b)   OBJECTIVES OF AN INTRAMURAL SPORTING ACTIVITY IN SCHOOLS

•       - to provide opportunities for participating in physical activities/sports
•       - to encourage good physical and mental health for participants
•       - to encourage healthy competitive spirit among pupils/students        
•       - to create opportunity for social interaction among pupils without rancour
•       - creates avenue for the development of sports spirit/sportmanship
•       - to encourage group spirit and solidarity
• - to provide opportunities for self discovery/means of discovering talents by sports                                         organisers
•       - avenue for selecting athletes for extramural competitions
