CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES AND SUGGESTED REMEDIES

The candidates’ weaknesses include their inability to:

- express themselves in simple English Language

- write correct spellings

- understand questions asked

- define sprint races

- state duties of a referee in an athletics event

- state duties of a starter’s assistant in an athletics event

- state instances in which the ball is dead in tennis game

- mention instances in which the ball is dead in tennis game

- mention instances in which players change court in tennis game

- state differences between tennis game and table tennis game

- state differences between tennis game and table tennis game

- state objective of the ancient Olympic Games

- mention factors that can affect an individual’s choice of recreational activity.

- state functions of cerebrum, cerebellum and medulla oblongata

- define muscle tone

- state effect of exercise on muscle and the heart

- define bye in a tournament.

 

The following remedies were suggested to overcome these weaknesses:

- Teachers and students should be more serious in teaching and learning English Language through constant writing essay and speaking,

- provision of libraries and books in schools

- government should pay teachers as at when due to motivate teachers for diligence at work

- government should make school environment conducive for effective teaching and learning

- students should study with WAEC syllabus for improvement in their studies.
