A good percentage of the candidates provided the wrong response. Many candidates list the magnetic elements as paramagnetic, ferromagnetic and diamagnetic.

The expected answers are

Magnetic elements that determine the earth’s magnetic field at a point
- Angle of dip/inclination
- angle of declination/variation
- horizontal component of the earth’s magnetic field
