  1. State five factors the company would consider in designing its store layout.
  2. Outline five benefits the company would derive from having a good store layout.

A good store layout would:

  1. facilitate easy movement of people and materials in the store;
  2. prevent pilferage of goods in the store;
  3. minimize logistics cost for the company;
  4. facilitate packing and retrieving of stock items;
  5. reduce accidents and injuries in the store;
  6. enable staff to easily check and count stock items;
  7. facilitate efficiency in the management of space;
  8. facilitate easy movement of handling equipment.
