Many candidates were unable to:
- interpret the drawings;
- use the appropriate tools and equipment;
- prepare the materials to the given specifications.
To overcome these weaknesses, students should be taught on:
- how to interpret the working drawings;
- the use of appropriate tools and equipment;
- the need to prepare materials to the given specifications.
In addition, students should be made to construct useful domestic items during their workshop practices and allow them to visit standard woodwork shops and sites.
