Observation

This is a descriptive essay which required that the candidates should write on a particular house that they wish to build. Most Candidates did not write on  a particular house. They failed to give the location, the owner, the likely cost of the house as well as the general description of the house.

(a)This is an expository essay which requires candidates to think deep on work as an antidote to poverty: The candidates who attempted this question plagiarized J.F. Ọdúnjọ’s poem of the same title.

(b)This is a descriptive essay on the last election campaign. Most of the candidates who attempted this question wrote on the election and the aspiration of the electorates in assessing the campaign for the last election.

(c)    This is an argumentative essay on ‘water is more powerful than fire’. Many candidates misunderstood the essay  as ‘water is more useful than fire’. They also failed to balance their argument and this resulted in poor performance.

(d)    It is a formal letter to a newspaper editor. The candidate is required to identify the existing inadequacies in the educational sector and suggest  remedies. Some of the Candidates performed above average but they would have performed better if they had written on both aspects of the topic  instead of focusing only on the inadequacies.
