Observation
The question was attempted by few of the candidates. The performance was average. The following points were expected from the candidates to obtain the maximum marks:
1. DRAWING QUALITY
(a) Accurate drawing of a female model wearing a pleated skirt, sleeveless blouse and a pair of sandals.
(b) Accurate drawing of the model sitting comfortably on a plastic chair.
(c) Accurate drawing of the model’s arms resting on the armchair with legs
crossed at the ankle and looking straight.
2. TONE/COLOUR
(a) Effective shading to depict the female model.
(b) Accurate indication of the source of light in the composition.
(c) Ability to create the correct feeling in the composition.
3. COMPOSITION
(a) Centrality/ balance of the objects on the paper.
(b) Use of paper to advantage (at least ¾ of the paper).
(c) Indication of background.
(d) Indication of base line.
4. ORIGINALITY
(a) Showing effective personalized style of work.
(b) Showing effective use of art materials (colour, pencil, charcoal, pastel, pen and ink).
