Candidates' Weaknesss
Candidates’ major weaknesses were exhibited as follows:
- Mis-interpretation of some French terms to mere English words;
 - Inability to list security risks in the catering industry;
 - Inability to state responsibilities of an employer regarding safety of workers;
 - Unable to list classes of fire;
 - Give the meaning of the following terms: carte du jour, Au jour, poulet, croutons.
 
In  order to overcome the weaknesses highlighted above:
      Teachers  should - endeavour to consult different Catering textbooks before giving 
      lectures;
      -ensure a  comprehensive teaching of the topics in the syllabus
      -  they should be creative and innovative in  their teaching methods;
      -  always use French terminology when teaching so as to enable the candidates get  familiar with them;
      Candidatesshould - be exposed to  catering equipment and also visit catering 
      establishments - purchase all the  needed textbooks especially the new edition as 
      new topics keep surfacing yearly;
      Schools should   -endeavour to supply catering equipment to  school laboratories to 
      afford the students the opportunity  to learn.
      Government schools and parents should  encourage students to volunteer at standard 
      catering establishments during  holidays;
