Observation
This question attracted lots of candidates and a vast percentage of the candidates who attempted it performed above average. Most candidates who answered it were good as they understood what was required of the question. The defect to most of candidates who missed out in scoring the maximum marks obtainable is mostly attributed to candidates writing about the aftermath or consequences of cultism in the school rather than on ways Civic Education can help discourage cultism in schools. A secret cult group refers to an enclosed organized association whose membership and activities as well as mode of operations are not only done and kept in secret but are at variance with the accepted norms of society.

- Through awareness creation about the danger of cultism
- Through the inculcation of right attitude and values to students
- By encouraging youth/students to be good citizen
- By assisting students to reject being lured into cultism
- By exposing the activities and mode of operation of various cult groups
- Through encouragement of more researches into the activities of cult groups with a view to finding solution to the menace
- By teaching students to understand and protect their rights as well as respect the rights of others
