Observation

The candidate is required to write a letter to another friend describing the birthday celebration of another friend, highlighting what he/she found most interesting about the celebration. Many candidates who attempted this question used the correct formal features of an informal letter and also addressed both parts of the question fairly well. Spelling errors were very common and punctuation marks were used indiscriminately. However, the language used by most was chatty.
