Observation

This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was good.  In part (a) candidates correctly listed pieces of equipment used in detecting auditory defects. In part (b) candidates correctly state ways of caring for the eye.  In part (c) candidates also mentioned sources of water used in rural areas . 

            However, the expected answers are as follows:

1(a)   PIECES OF EQUIPMENT USED IN DETECTING AUDITORY DEFECTS

         -  audiometer
-  turning fork
-  guitar strings
-  wrist watch
-   drum.
-   otoscope

          NB: spelling must be correct to score.                                                    

  (b)    WAYS OF CARING FOR THE EYE

• avoid sharing face towel/handkerchief
• avoid reading with poor light
• avoid reading in the moving vehicles
• use prescribed drugs only
• regular visit to eye specialist for check up
• wash your eyes with clean water
• avoid staying too long in front of computer/TV screen
• prevent injury to the eye/contact with dust/corrosive chemical
