CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES AND SUGGESTED REMEDIES
Candidates’ weaknesses include their inability to:
- prepare adequately for the examination;
- identify diagrams illustrated;
- label diagrams correctly;
- list important test that a pregnant condition should undergo;
- mention the unit in an hospital which handles the pregnancy condition;
- state advisory roles played by the pre-natal of the hospital;
- mention habits that could affect the health of the pregnancy condition illustrated negatively;
- name the parts labelled I,II,III,IV, V and VI;
- mention the bone in human skeleton illustrated;
- mention the bone in humans that forms a joint with the part labelled III
- state function of the structure represented by the diagram illustrated in figure 3
- name the vertebra that joints the part labelled I in the diagram illustrated
- state the number of bones that form the vertebra in 3(c)(i)
- name the parts labelled I,II,III,IV,V,VI,VII and VIII of the urinogenital system.
- define digestion
- name enzymes responsible for protein digestion
- state functions of the liver
- define degenerative disease
- mention degenerative diseases
- explain gastroenteritis, constipation and appendicitis as disorders of the alimentary canal.
- State advantages and disadvantages of canned food
- give examples of natural food substances that contain iron
- state deficiency diseases of vitamin E
The following remedies were suggested to overcome these weaknesses:
- candidates should attend extra coaching classes to meet up with academics challenge;
- relevant textbooks on health education should be purchased by candidates;
- drawing of diagrams by the students should be more emphasized by the teacher during lessons;
