Observation
This question was attempted by few candidates and their performance was poor. In part (a)(i) candidates could not correctly mention the degrees of burns in (a)(ii) candidates also could not state characteristics each of the degrees of burns mentioned in (a)(i). In part (b) candidates could not correctly name health pioneer in mental health from West Africa.
However, the correct answers are as follows:
- (a)(i) DEGREES OF BURNS
- first degree/mild/minor
- second degree/moderate
- third degree/severe
(ii) CHARACTERISTICS OF 1ST DEGREE BURNS
- pain
- redness of the skin
- swelling of the epidermis/top layer of skin
- heals quickly with little or no scare
(iii) CHARACTERISTICS OF SECOND DEGREE BURNS
- damage extend to the dermis
- much pain/burning sensation
