Weakness and Remedies
The candidates’ weaknesses include their inability to:
- express themselves in simple English Language
- master contents of the subject Health Education
- write correct spellings of words
- identify diagrams shown in I and II
- state observable features of the conditions shown in I and II
- mention methods to prevent the conditions shown in I and II
- mention parts of the body that are affected in the condition illustrated II
- identify the worm illustrated
- state the shape of the worm illustrated
- name the part of the human body in which the worm lives
- mention organisms in which the worm illustrated can be found
- mention the mode of feeding by the worm illustrated
- name the illustrated insect.
- state observable features which enable insects to transmit diseases
- name the diseases transmitted by the illustrated insect
- state ways of controlling the population of the illustrated insect
- state factors that affect human growth
- state functions of the structures found in animal cells i.e mitochondrion, nucleus and cytoplasm
- define maternal care
- state health care services given in maternal health programme and child health programme
- state ways of improving the quality of diet
- mention the degree of burns
- state characteristics of the degree of burns mentioned in (a) (i)
- name one health pioneer in mental health from West Africa.
The following remedies were suggested to overcome these weaknesses:
- candidates should read recommended text books and make use of dictionary whenever they are reading for examination
- candidates should understand questions before attempting to answer
- candidates should improve on their reading and spoken English through constant reading of novels and speaking of English.
