This question was relatively popular among the candidates and those who attempted it performed fairly above average. Many candidates had the idea of the importance of ICT. Unfortunately however, a large number could not relate its importance to historical studies. Specifically, the candidates were expected to state the following points to score good marks:

1. It can allow for live recording of important events and their development which can be kept for future reference.


2. It can aid easy global transmission and recording of historical facts which can be made for easy interpretation in other foreign languages for reference purposes.


3. It can give real pictures, actions and sound of past and present events that have taken place.


4. Its records can easily be stored and played back.


5. It can be seen as a versatile tool which can hold the attention of historians in research.


6. It can also help historians clarify abstractions and influence attitude.


7. It can give a wider coverage of events.


8. It can help build up knowledge and skills for future use.


9. It can be used for sourcing and retrieving of historical information.


10. It can be used for effective teaching and learning of history.
