Observation

This was a popular question but the candidates’ performance was below average. The candidates mixed it with the events of the 19th century.  The candidates were expected to write the following points as answers to the question.

(i)         A new religion with a different way of worshipping was introduced which co-existed with the traditional religion.
(ii)        Introduction of Islamic education and literacy.
(iii)       Promoted trade and commerce with Muslim communities in North       Africa.
(iv)       Introduction of Sharia legal system.
(v)        It fostered unity among Muslims.
(vi)       Employment of Muslim scholars in administration.
(vii)      Emergence of new Muslim rulers.
(viii)     Emergence of Muslim brotherhoods.
(ix)       New charms and amulets were introduced.
