- Mention four guidelines for effective use of time.
Observation
In question 2(a) majority of the candidates preformed excellently and the question was widely attempted by the candidates. However, some candidates defined time plan as the process of planning and controlling the use of time which was wrong. The expected answer was:
the process of allocating time to activities to be carried out within a specific time period.
Or
this is a list of hours in the day with things to be done filled in at the right time.
2(b) was on steps in making a time plan. Majority of the candidates answered it correctly.
However, some candidates mentioned the pace of work, attitude to work, posture of the worker and health of the person instead of listing the following as:
- all the activities to be done in a day;
- estimate the amount of time to be used to accomplish each task;
- compare the total estimated time for all the tasks with the time available to the worker;
- determine the exact time when each job will be accomplished;
- allow time for rest.
In 2(c), candidates were expected to mention the guidelines for effective use of time. This question was well answered by majority of the candidates. They gave answers such as; use a time table or time plan, Arrange all the household chores properly so that they can be done sequentially, plan to do related jobs at a time to avoid confusion, learn the best method for doing each task well, prepare properly for a given task, avoid procrastination, concentrate on the task at hand and distraction leads to waste of time and start with work that may take long period to accomplish.
