Observation
Question 4(a & b) was the least attempted by candidates and those that attempted it performed woefully. The question required the candidates to mention and give example of classes of toys and play materials. Although the topic is part of child development in Home Management, candidates could not answer the question correctly. This is a reflection of their poor knowledge of the child development aspect of the subject. The expected answers were

EXAMPLES OF CLASSES OF TOYS AND PLAY MATERIALS
- Exploration: e.g. soft dolls, tinkle blocks of bright colors, raffles, nylon push balls, spool on strings etc.
- Muscular exercise: e.g. large balls, tricycles, push and pull toys, swings, slides etc.
- Creative plays: e.g. large crayons and drawing sheets, plastic, soft clay, non–poisonous paint and paint brush, sand and sand toys, soap, bubble pipes etc.
- Role playing and imaginations: e.g. big doll babies, bigger toy cars, colorful plastic plates and spoons etc.
- Sports and skill development: e.g. football, table tennis ball and bats etc.
