Candidates’ Weaknesses
The following weaknesses were observed on the candidates’ scripts:
- Incomplete coverage of the syllabus
It was observed that candidates did not completely cover the syllabus especially aspects of gemology and lapidary, health, safety and environment, mining policy and Basic mine accounting.
- Scanty explanation of points
Points which ought to be adequately explained were merely listed. This led to the loss of valuable marks.
SUGGESTED REMEDIES FOR OVERCOMING CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES
- Complete coverage of the syllabus
It is advised that candidates should start reading on time so that they would fully cover the syllabus before the examination begins.
- Adequate explanation of points:
where required candidates should adequately explain their points in order to obtain full marks.
