In part (a)(i) candidates correctly name the equipment illustrated in (a)(ii) candidates also name the parts labelled I, II, III and IV. In part (b) (i) candidates correctly mention equipment needed during javelin throw in athletics and in (b)(ii) candidates could not correctly state safety precautions during javelin throw in athletics. In part (c) candidates could not correctly explain terms as used in athletics: photo finished, torso and run-way. In part (d) candidates correctly name the landing area for all throwing events in athletics.
However, the expected answers were as follows:

- run-way: It is a designated area within which athlete run to gather momentum to execute a throw/jump in athletics.
