Observation
This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was fair. Some candidates could not demonstrate properly crouch start method.
However, the expected answers are as follows:
Activity 2: Running the 60 metres race
Procedure: Candidates use the crouch start on the starting command, candidates run as fast as possible through the lane to the finishing line.
Rate the position “on your marks” set and “go”/”gun shot” running form and finish on a scale
5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

“On your marks”
(I) place feet some distance behind the scratch line
(II) assume a crouch position
(III) place hands behind scratch line
(IV) head and shoulder width apart
(V) fingers pointing sideways in a tripod position
(VI) head dropped/explained
Set and “Go”/ Gun shot”
(I) body rock forward and upward/transfer body weight to the hands
(II) slightly stretched the rear leg
(III) raise the head slightly/look a few metres ahead
(IV) push off with the rear leg
(V) arm swings, forward alternately
(VI) gradually rise into an erect position
Running form
(I) high knee raise
(II) full extension of the legs
(III) land on the ball of the feet
(IV) swing arms forward and backward alternatively
(V) keep head straight and look forward
Finish
(I) finish with speed
(II) keep head forward
(III) lean the body forward/chest/torso out
(IV) maintain balance
(V) cross the finish line
