Procedure:
The candidate stands to the right or left of the centre marked behind the baseline and serves five balls into the correct service court. Net balls are repeated. Use the scale of 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 to score grip, stance and execution as the candidate performs the activity.

(V) adopt a comfortable type
Stance
(I) assume astride stand position
(II) maintain side on position
(III) both legs in contact with the ground
(IV) stand behind the baseline
(V) stay within the service demarcated by the centre mark
Execution
(I) toss the ball
(II) hit ball above head
(III) eyes on the ball
(IV) lean backward slightly
(V) swing the racket to contact the ball
(VI) step forward after hitting the ball
Product Evaluation
The purpose is to measure the ability to serve accurately into the correct service court.
Specification
Scoring:
Each service attempted is scored 1 point if the ball lands in the correct service court. Five trials are allowed and scored. The best three trials are recorded for the candidate.
