Activity 7: Backhand clear in Badminton
Procedure: Each candidate is expected to execute backhand clear from a marked spot on the badminton court into the opposing court. Three trials are allowed. The best trial is recorded as score.
Use the scale of5, 4, 3, 2, 1 to rate the performance of candidate on grip, body position and execution.

(ii) firmly held
(iii) hand rests at the butt
(iv) wrist is flexed
(v) a comfortable grip is adopted
Stance
(i) astride standing position is assumed
(ii) legs are in contact with the ground
(iii) facing direction of play
(iv) a side-on position is maintained
(v) eyes focused on target
Execution
(i) racket hand is moved forward and upward
(ii) power hand moves forward across the body
(iii) head is tilted upward
(iv) hit under the shuttle
(v) follow through
Product Evaluation
The purpose is to measure the ability to execute backhand clear from the marked spot on the court into the opposing court.
