The standard of the  paper compared favourably with those of previous years.   Clarity of the rubrics and flexibility of  the marking scheme were maintained.  The  questions were clearly itemized, unambiguous and easily comprehensible.
                          The performance of the  candidates was better than that of the previous year.  The candidate population of 189,358 had a raw  mean score of 24 and a standard deviation of 13.42 as against a raw mean score  of 21 and a standard deviation of 11.89 recorded in the  November/December 2008 WASSCE with  candidature of 214,277.
