Majority of the candidates attempted this question and their performance was outstanding. In question 1 (a) (i and ii), most of the candidates were able to explain the term agriculture and list industries that utilize cereals as their raw materials.

Also, in question l(b), many candidates were able to outline the problems that hinder the attainment of self - sufficiency in food production in West Africa. Further to this, majority of the candidates could enumerate benefits of commercial farming as demanded in question 1 (c).
