  1. List six abiotic components of a farm ecosystem (6 marks)
  2. State four ways in which the carbon cycle is important in agriculture (4 marks)
  3. A vegetable crop is planted at a spacing of 40cm x 40cm on an 80m x 40m farmland. Calculate the expected population of the crops on the farmland. (3 marks)
  4. Name four examples each of crops that belong to the following crop grouping:

    (i). fibres

    (ii) beverages. (4 Marks)

Observation

Majority of the candidates found it easy listing the abiotic component of a farm ecosystem and stating ways in which carbon cycle is important to agriculture. Obviously, calculation based question was a no-go area for most of the candidates. It appears candidates develop phobia at the site of calculation. Majority of the candidates listed examples of crops as they pleased instead of examples of crop groupings that belonged to fibres and beverages.
