Weakness and Remedies
The candidates were unable to:
- classify orange and mango based on their seed distribution;
- calculate the moisture content and percentage moisture content of the soil;
- describe how cassava could be processed into ‘garri’ flour;
- identify the sickle, pruning saw and hoe;
Based on the observed weaknesses, the Chief Examiners recommended as follows:
- There should be intensive self-study and revision before exam;
(ii) Hands-on practical exposure and experience is advocated;
(iii) Improved reading culture among candidates is advocated;
(iv) Candidates should make use of standard Agricultural Science textbooks when preparing for
the WASSCE exam;
(v) Candidates should always state the unit of measurement when attempting calculation
questions.
