The standard of the paper was high and compared favourably with those of previous years.  The rubrics were clear, the questions were unambiguous and within the scope of the syllabus.

The marking scheme was exhaustive and flexible.  The performance of the candidates was poorer than that of the previous year comparing the mean score of 16 and the standard deviation of 09.06 with the mean score of 19 and standard deviation of 9.54 for the May/June 2011 WASSCE.
