The question was not popular with candidates. Many of the candidates that answered the question failed to narrate the short history of the Israelites and the claim by Joshua that he was going to serve the lord with his family. However, some of them got the (b) part of the question correctly, and earned good marks in it. Some of the points that could have fetched them some marks in the (a) part of the question were:

(i) Joshua gathered all the people together and told them their history from Abraham to Moses;

(ii) he reminded them of the saving acts of God;

(iii) he asked them to choose whom they would serve;

(iv) he and his family would serve the lord.
